Loyola Elford

Senior Physiotherapist

Loyola has been a physiotherapist since 1977 after graduating from the University of Queensland and is celebrating 40 years as a Physiotherapist. She has worked mainly in private practice and has been working in the Everton Park and Stafford area for nearly 30 years. Loyola took over the Everton Park Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre in early 2006 and has instigated the move to our exciting new clinic and developing our rehabilitation exercise area.


Loyola works predominantly with poor core stability, postural analysis and correction and chronic injuries and rehabilitation. She is highly experienced particularly in the treatment of spinal pain and headaches as well as shoulder and pelvic girdle dysfunction and muscle imbalances. She believes in hands on treatment to reduce pain and stiffness and developing an exercise plan for her patients for both acute and chronic management. Loyola has completed a vestibular rehabilitation course to assess and treat patients with vertigo and vestibular dysfunction. She is a member of the Musculoskeletal, Sports and Continence and Women’s Health Groups within the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Meet Loyola

Bess Turner


“I believe physiotherapy is an underplayed hand in women’s health both acutely during life events and more generally in enjoying a full and active life into age.”

Bess is our Pilates and women’s health physiotherapist at the practice. A University of Queensland graduate, Bess has clinical experience in women’s health, geriatrics and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Bess organises and implements our Clinical Pilates Program using mat and reformer work.  She has also developed our Falls Prevention Program specifically designed to help improve balance and regain confidence with mobility in the ageing population.  Bess has completed a vestibular rehabilitation course which allows her to assess and treat patients with vertigo and vestibular dysfunction.


With her considerable experience with Clinical Pilates, Bess designs individual programs that range from acute rehabilitation to injury prevention. These programs compliment her hands-on treatments of both chronic and acute musculoskeletal conditions. Bess has a special interest in women’s health, specifically obstetrics with the management of pain and dysfunction during pregnancy as well as maintaining prenatal and postnatal fitness with Pilates. She has completed courses in Women’s Health and Incontinence and in Childbirth Education and is a registered member of CAPEA (Childbirth and Parenting Educators of Australia).

Meet Bess

Ethan Hanley


“I believe in providing manual therapy, tailored exercise prescription and education to help my patients reach their individual goals.”

Ethan graduated with a Master’s of Physiotherapy after finishing his Bachelor of Exercise Science from Griffith University. Ethan has a strong interest in treating all musculoskeletal conditions including sporting and work place injuries, with a particular interest in shoulders, knees and backs. Ethan’s own sporting background has given him knowledge of many sports including hockey, soccer, touch football and their specific injuries. Ethan has previous experience providing sports coverage for a local Gold Coast soccer team and has an interest in dealing with injuries in athletes of all abilities. Ethan has experience running Pilates and balance classes for patients of all ages.


Ethan believes in manual therapy and tailored exercise prescriptions for reducing your symptoms and restoring function. He provides education and advice for managing your condition or injury throughout your rehabilitation. Ethan offers other forms of treatment including dry needling, as well as chest and respiratory physiotherapy treatment for those with poor exercise tolerance or breathing difficulties. Ethan is an APA member.

Reggie Heywood

“I thoroughly believe that exercise is medicine and that educating and empowering people to self-manage their existing injuries and prevent future health concerns is the key to leading a healthy & fulfilling life.”

Reggie graduated from University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Exercise & Sports Science majoring in Clinical Exercise Physiology. With a strong background in strength & conditioning for a variety of sporting populations, he brings with him an in depth understanding of the training demands of athletes ranging from developmental to Olympic levels.


Reggie also has a passion for competitive weightlifting and using a combination of physiologic assessment and sport medicine and science-backed principles to achieve athletic performance goals. He has a special interest in treating musculoskeletal dysfunction, emphasising the correction of total body biomechanics to enhance movement quality.


He also likes to work closely with General Practitioners to develop targeted lifestyle interventions for chronic and complex conditions including: obesity, osteoporosis, arthritis, dementia and cancers, in addition to being highly skilled in managing a range of neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic, pulmonary and mental health disorders. Reggie thoroughly believes that exercise is medicine and that educating and empowering people to self-manage their existing injuries and prevent future health concerns is the key to leading a healthy & fulfilling life.

Rebecca Burling

Exercise Specialist

“I strongly believe that optimum health and wellbeing is achieved through an active lifestyle, good nutrition, and maintaining biomechanical function and musculoskeletal health.”

Beck has been working in the fitness industry since 2008 in Sydney and Brisbane. She is a qualified Exercise Specialist, Personal Trainer, a certified prenatal and postnatal trainer, and a certified Pilates, yoga, boxing and Zumba instructor.


Beck has worked with many clients in both class and one on one settings, to help them achieve their health and fitness goals, and she has a strong focus on safe exercise prescription, core and postural stability, corrective exercise, injury prevention and rehabilitation. She also has a special interest in pregnancy and postnatal exercise, yoga and Pilates, and is passionate about helping women to have a healthy pregnancy, labour, birth and beyond.


Beck teaches our general classes including Restore & Release (foam roller), mat Pilates, and prenatal Pilates, and runs our Prenatal Care Class Series with Bess.
