What is the Osteoporosis Strength & Bone Health Class?

Our Osteoporosis Strength & Bone Health Class is designed to help improve bone density, build strength, and reduce the risk of falls and fractures.

 

While medication reduces fracture risk, it’s resistance exercise that improves bone mineral density, strength and reduces falls risk.

 

Led by our physiotherapy team, the class focuses on safe, evidence-based bone loading exercises such as squats, deadlifts, step-ups, and resistance training. These exercises place healthy stress through the bones, helping to stimulate bone growth and maintain bone strength.

 

In addition to improving bone health, participants often experience better balance, increased muscle strength, improved confidence with daily activities, and greater overall physical function. Whether you have osteoporosis, osteopenia, or simply want to maintain strong bones as you age, this class provides a safe and supportive environment to exercise under professional guidance.

Before joining one of our classes you will start with a Class Initial Assessment with one of our Physiotherapists where your needs and goals will be determined so your individual program can be developed. When you join the class, you will then follow your individual program.

 

When booking online, the Class Initial Assessment can be found under appointments. Rebates are available for the classes with certain health funds.
